Copper wire

Procedure:
Make a coil with the copper wire. Sand paper the staight ends coming out either side.
Bend the paper clips to make a stirrup and tape one to each lead of the D battery.
Place the magnet on the D battery between the two paper clips. Place the coil across the stirrup.
You may need to give it a little push to start. It works well to lean it at an angle. It uses magnetic force and gravity to work.
